My drawings are experimental pieces interlaced with abstract illusions which create false depth to emulate tunnel vision of passing through a forest for the observer. A forest that has been gradually destroyed and decomposing. It is the sublime hidden within a dystopian world where disturbing forms such mutilated bodies and left over garbage is randomly scattered throughout. The idea behind each individual piece is to invoke a sense of destruction and turmoil we as humans have created on mother nature. My artworks are a reflection of helplessness and deep anguish I feel towards deterioration of nature due to greed and over consumption. However, I believe nature will soon take control and take its own course where destruction of humans will become inevitable day by day and is leading us to an apocalyptic end. Abstract forms made of tiles are symbolic of alien creatures taking over human reminiscent like bones, plastic and biowaste. My work in nature has provided me with an acute awareness of the issues facing our planet due to the ever-increasing exploitation of natural resources. The globe is warming, glaciers are shrinking, entire ecosystems are disappearing, and people are dying from illnesses caused by toxins in their food, cosmetics and the air we breathe. I decided that my work would be void of significance unless some of my projects specifically address the preservation and protection of natural environments. As my body of environmental work is constantly evolving, the pedagogic and social aspects have become critical modes of engagement. They aim to improve and prove a symbiotic relationship between humans and the natural world. Hence my work reflects these concerns
