In my work, I explore the dynamic and often disorienting effects of rapid urbanization on both the environment and the human psyche. Cities, as ever-evolving entities, embody a constant state of flux where history and modernity converge, where individual lives intersect with broader societal trends and progress often comes at the expense of tradition and natural landscapes. My art seeks to represent the never-ending growth of urban spaces, which involve a dynamic interplay between the built environment and the human narratives that animate it. Through a combination of urban sketching and new media art I focus on reflecting the complexities of this transformation inspired from today's urban fabric. The sprawling cityscapes in my work are not merely representations of physical growth but also metaphors for the psychological and emotional shifts experienced by those living within them. The rapid pace of urban development brings a spectrum of experiences such as the excitement of new opportunities, the disruption of familiar landscapes, and the displacement of communities. My pieces often juxtapose the sleek, modern elements of urban growth with fragmented, nostalgic elements that hint at the past. This contrast is intended to provoke contemplation about what is lost and gained in the process of modernization. By engaging with themes of displacement, density, and urban sprawl, my work invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences with rapidly changing environments and to consider the broader implications of such transformation on society and identity. In an era where cities are continually being redefined, my art serves as both a record and a critique, aiming to capture the essence of an ever-shifting urban landscape.
